This Privacy Policy explains how this personal portfolio website ("the Site"), operated by Hein Tay Zar Ko Ko Lwin("Tay Za", "I", "me"), handles information when you visit the Site or interact with its features, including the AI chat.

1. Information the Site Collects

The Site is designed to be lightweight and private. It has no user accounts, no newsletters, no advertising, and no analytics tracking. Specifically:

  • AI chat messages.When you use the "Talk to AI Me" feature, the text you type is sent to the Site's server and forwarded to Google's Gemini API to generate a response. Conversations are used only to produce your reply — they are not stored in any database by the Site.
  • Transient rate-limiting data. To prevent abuse of the AI endpoint, your IP address (as reported by network headers) is kept in a temporary in-memory counter that resets automatically within minutes. It is never written to disk, shared, or used to identify you.
  • Local preferences.Your light/dark theme choice is saved in your browser's localStorage. This stays on your device and never leaves it.

2. Information the Site Does Not Collect

  • No cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • No analytics, heatmaps, or session recording.
  • No names, emails, or contact details unless you choose to contact me directly through an external channel.

3. Third-Party Services

The Site relies on a small number of third-party processors. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Google Gemini API — processes chat messages and generates AI responses. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • GitHub API — the Live Telemetry dashboard fetches my own public GitHub contribution data server-side. No visitor data is sent to GitHub.
  • External platforms— when you click links to LinkedIn, Telegram, Instagram, LINE, Calendly, or GitHub, those platforms' own terms and policies apply to anything you do there.

4. Data Retention

Chat conversations are held in memory only for the duration of your session and are not persisted. Rate-limit counters expire within minutes. Theme preferences persist locally on your device until you clear them.

5. Children's Privacy

The Site is a general-audience portfolio and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your Rights

Since the Site stores no personal data about visitors, there is generally nothing to access, correct, export, or delete. If you believe otherwise or have questions, contact me and I will respond promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy as the Site evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
